After an article on Iris Mittenaere the Sea You Soon team has the pleasure and the chance to present you an exclusive interview about her career and her future ambitions.
In 2017 you were Miss Universe, What is your assessment of this year?
This is a positive result. I have had the good fortune to travel all over the world. Working in English in the United States has given me a lot for learning the language, for the American way of working. Travel really matured me and I learned a lot about myself, what I wanted. It was a very interesting year for me.
What exactly have you learned about yourself?
The most important thing is to have confidence in yourself and never to underestimate yourself. I have learned to be comfortable in any situation and these are things that will help me in the future. I found myself. I really know what I want. I don’t feel much different, but it’s true that I’ve matured a lot since last year.
How did you imagine after Miss Universe?
I had a lot of projects in TV, in modeling. I'm lucky because the Miss Universe title has opened doors for me. I had a lot of dates when I got back to France. I felt ready to do a lot of things elsewhere than in France. And I wanted to continue to travel and discover the world.
we can say that your projects have been realized today. Are you proud of your background?
I think I stayed the same, and that's why I wanted to write a book, to realize this journey. I am proud.
Talking about your book, can you tell us more about it?
At the end of my Miss year, I told myself that it was important that I write my story to realize everything that had happened. I wanted to take stock of my life. On the other hand, people were asking me a lot of things, for advice, so I wrote this book for them, as for myself. If it can help me and help them, I've won everything !
After becoming beauty queen, you will chair this 91st miss France contest ceremony, How do you feel about presiding over this 2020 ceremony?
I can't wait to be there! I have already had the extraordinary opportunity to run into other Misses in a photoshoot. Meeting all these women, with very different and inspiring destinies, was, for me, a strong and magical moment.
As a woman, do you think beauty pageants have evolved in the right way?
Yes, I think so, although there is still work to be done. The Miss France pageant has undergone many changes since its inception in 1920. Today, the election is no longer based solely on physical criteria. The eloquence and the career of the future beauty queen are desirable qualities. Over the years, the general knowledge test and the questions asked on stage have become more and more specific.
Are you stressed to take on this heavy task, after Alain Delon, Patrick Bruel, Line Renaud ...
Not at all! I am fortunate to have already lived the experience by presiding over the 2018 election, alongside Jean Paul Gautier. I have fond memories of it, and I am really delighted to be back at the jury table, which this year consists of Miss.
I imagine this is also an emotional moment for you ...
Of course, I can't forget the 2015 ceremony when I was a candidate. The stress had not left me all evening! So I put myself in the place of the candidates and I share their feelings. I will know how to be benevolent and indulgent (...)
Do you have some future projects ?
Well, as I announced on my instagram, a new project i'm working on is going to be released soon. The project is still a secret I can just tell you: Lancôme.
